- The Applegate Pioneer Museum was founded and opened in 1975 at Crow, as a Non-profit Organization. Many items have been donated that were used by our early Pioneers. Before moving to Veneta the one room Pine Grove School was moved to Crow in 1972 from Spencer Creek, it was a donation by the Spencer Creek Lutheran Church. Then through extensive research by Jack Kelley starting in 1985 to locate a spot in Veneta. A spot was Found in 1998 Coordinated by Jan Wellman and Jack Kelley. The Museum and shed arrived in Veneta at 24864 Broadway in 2000. In 2013 the Shed was brought up to code and the reading room was added; it contains a considerable amount of genealogy of our early area pioneers. The Mission of the Museum is to preserve the history of the West Lane area.
